The Voice Adds a Night

NBC has announced that it will be adding a second night of The Voice throughout the whole fall season, instead of just toward the end. With all of this extra time being added, and a new season starting so soon, they are considering adding more coaches for the Winter/Spring 2013 season. This means more of The Voice, which is pretty good, but possibly less of Blake. That, not so much. He is still signed on for the next two seasons though, so we still have that to look forward to.

EDIT: Some additional clarification: Because of the short time off between seasons, the network is recognizing that the coaches have other commitments, since they are all working artists. The current coaches have committed to additional seasons, but there is a possibility of the show needing to bring in additional coaches due to tour dates, etc.

Blake Shelton will perform at CMA festival

Blake Shelton has joined the performance lineup for the Nightly Concerts at LP Field during 2012 CMA Music Festival. The event that USA Today calls “the crown jewel of Country Music festivals” will once again take over downtown Nashville for four days this summer, Thursday-Sunday, June 7-10, 2012. Get all of the info below:

DIERKS BENTLEY, BRANTLEY GILBERT, ALAN JACKSON, SCOTTY McCREERY, AND BLAKE SHELTON WILL PERFORM AT 2012 CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL

NASHVILLE – Dierks Bentley, Brantley Gilbert, Alan Jackson, Scotty McCreery, and reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Blake Shelton have joined the performance lineup for the Nightly Concerts at LP Field during 2012 CMA Music Festival. The event that USA Today calls “the crown jewel of Country Music festivals” will once again take over downtown Nashville for four days this summer, Thursday-Sunday, June 7-10, 2012.

Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Faith Hill, Lady Antebellum, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, and Zac Brown Band were previously announced as performing at the legendary Festival, which has grown since starting in 1972 as Fan FairÂ® to become Nashville’s signature music event. Additional artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Bentley won the CMA Horizon Award in 2005. He recently released the album Home, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. The album contains the No. 1, Gold-certified single “Am I the Only One” and the current, Top Five-and-rising single, “Home.”

Gilbert, who will make his debut performance on the Nightly Concerts at LP Field this year, was a 2011 CMA Awards nominee in the Song of the Year category for co-writing “Dirt Road Anthem” with Colt Ford. His current album is Halfway to Heaven Deluxe, featuring the No. 1 Gold-certified single “Country Must Be Country Wide.”

Before his show last year in Ontario in August, Blake asked me in person to help make sure his team wins The Voice. Last year, we organized overnight viraly to get Dia Frampton almost 8600 votes and earned her second place by less than 1.5 percent from first place. We can do better.

Blake will be releasing America The Beautiful on January 31st. It’s a duet version of the patriotic song with his wife Miranda Lambert, who will be performing it together before the Super Bowl on February 5th!
